Pack 40 is located in the town of Mount
Vernon, Iowa. Pack 40 is part of the Hawkeye
Area Council and Three Rivers District. The
United Methodist Church has charted us for
over 65 years, making Pack 40 one of the
oldest Pack's in Eastern Iowa.
The volunteer leaders in Pack 40 provide a
full range of BSA approved activities. These
activities include camping, pine wood derby
races, day trips, and community service
projects.

The Leadership of the Mount Vernon Cub Scouts wish to extend an
invitation to all boys who are elementary school age (1st grade
through 5th grade).

The Pack is divided into 5 different Dens. The first
den is the Tiger Den, which is comprised of scouts
who are in the 1st grade. The second den is the
Wolf Den, which is comprised of scouts in the
second grade. The third den is the Bear Den,
which is comprised of scouts in the third grade.
The fourth den is the WEBELOS 1 Den, which is
comprised of scouts in the 4th grade. The fifth den
is the WEBELOS 2 Den, which is comprised of
scouts in the 5th grade.
Each den hold it's own meeting with it's den leader
on selected Tuesdays of every month. Scheduled
den meeting are only held during the school year.
The Pack has a monthly meeting which is held on
the 3rd Tuesday of every month. All of the 5
individual dens participate in the monthly pack
meeting. The Cub Master is responsible for
conducting the pack meetings.
The pack leadership has a monthly meeting on the
2nd Tuesday of every month. It is used to
coordinate and plan all activities.
The 1st Thursday of every month is when the Three
Rivers District host the monthly roundtable.
Leaders from all of the Cubscout Packs in the
Three Rivers District conduct district business.
